Hello There!

Thankyou for stopping by! My name is Katie and I'm a UK based 3D Generalist/Tech artist (and sometimes illustrator) with over 5 years professional experience working in games. A lot of my work is centred around Maya, Blender and in engine software. I am a big lover of all things tech art in Unity, including working in Shuriken (VFX), optimisation, implementation, shaders (nodes and HLSL) and lighting/post processing.

 

I also have some experience with illustration and working with clients for social media posts and poster designs using Procreate and Photoshop. I specialise in making cozy/casual games as well as drawing detailed isometric environments with oodles of detail and environmental storytelling.

2024 - Present: Freelance 3D Generalist/Tech Artist & Games Art Lecturer

  • Making VFX, Animations, Lighting cookies and shaders for PandaCat Games on their upcoming title Spirits of Heartwood as a Tech/FX artist (Ongoing)

  • Teaching games art pipelines, materials and shaders and implementation to students at MetStudios in Brighton and London South Bank University (Ongoing)

  • Level Design and Set dressing for Psytec Games on their title Titan Isles as a Level Artist (5 months)

  • Additional work with Oxalis Games on Moonfrost as a 3D Generalist/FX artist and helping with optimisation (1 year 2 months)

2022 - 2024: 3D Generalist Artist @ Oxalis Games

  • Joined as a 2D/3D artist and ended up in various art disciplines including 2D concept design, 3D modelling, VFX and tech art support.

  • Communicating effectively across various disciplines to collaborate on MoonFrost including code, art, design, marketing and production.

  • Primarily responsible for 3D pipeline in Blender and implementing assets in Unity,setting up prefabs and set dress.

  • Secondary responsibilities creating high quality 2D concept designs and illustrations using Adobe Photoshop, including creating key concept designs for NPC shops and collectables.

 

2021 - 2022: Solo Games Developer 

  • Developed and promoted self published project Potion Prodigy

  • Worked alongside Super Rare Games to get physical publication of the demo
  • Worked with Wholesome Direct to get Potion Prodigy featured in their summer showcase "Wholesome Direct"

Summer 2021: Intern Artist @ PlayMorgan Studios

  • Joined as an intern artist and worked across various mediums including marketing, character and environmental art

  • Worked in collaboration with 3D artist and art director to create graphics and artwork using Procreate.

Bonus Achievements

Super Rare Games, Mixtape Vol.4 (2021) -

Collaborated with Super Rare on a very cool publishing project Super Rare Mixtape. The Mixtapes were a collection of lots of indie games combined onto one USB drive (in the shape of an old school cassette tape). My indie game Potion Prodigy was featured in this collection as a demo, along with a collection of behind the scenes concept art and sketches (find it here).​

Wholesome Games, Wholesome Direct Showcase (2022) -

Collaborated with Wholesome Games to get Potion Prodigy featured on their wholesome direct showcase (link here). I also collabed with Wholesome Games creating merchandise, where one of my characters from the game was featured on their T-shirts to raise funds for charity (mentioned in  live stream).

LimitBreak Programme (2024, 2025) -

Operated as both a mentor and a mentee in LimitBreak's mentorship programme.

GDLX (Game Dev Local) Event, Speaker (2025) -

Provided two talks for GDLX, One for Into Games careers stage about "Graduating into the games industry", another on the Fireside stage in collaboration with pannelists about "New Industry Practices".

MCM Comic Con/EGX Event, Speaker (2025) -

 

Provided a talk at MCM Comic Con on their Careers Stage to provide advice to any artists breaking into the industry.
